A few days after announcing a new lyf hotel in the stands of Chelsea football stadium in London, Ascott is unveiling other projects in Europe. Notably in France, where the world leader in long-stay accommodation will be opening a Citadines aparthotel in Colmar in 2026. This is in parallel with a renovation plan that saw the rejuvenation of the Citadines Les Halles La Défense in Paris last year, with the same programme under way for the Citadines Holborn Covent Garden in London and the Citadines Kufurstendamm in Berlin.
While this brand has seen other recent openings with the Citadines Danube Vienna at the end of 2023 and Canal Amsterdam at the beginning of the year, these developments have enabled the Singaporean group to surpass the 60-establishment mark in Europewhich are either in operation or due to open soon. Among the projects currently underway, the lyf Gambetta Paris will be inaugurated at the end of the year in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. First introduced in Vienna last year, and deployed in Frankfurt since July with the lyf East Frankfurt, the hybrid and lifestyle hosting concepthalfway between aparthotels, traditional hotels and coliving, is set to be extended to other cities.
In addition to the Citadines Colmar, the Ascott group has just signed up six new establishments, two concern the lyf brand and the United Kingdom with two openings expected in Glasgow and Manchester. All this is in addition to the Stamford Bridge London lyf, as part of the strategic partnership with Chelsea football club.
The British Isles will also have the launch of a new brand launched by Ascott, The Unlimited Collection. As part of the Singapore group's desire to offer a more hybrid mix of residences and classic hotels, this brand is not geared towards long stays, but brings together a selection of upmarket independent establishments located in lively districts. Not least because The Temple Bar hotel, in the beating heart of Dublin, will be joining The Unlimited Collection by early 2025. By the end of the year, The Unlimited Collection by Ascott will have opened its first hotels in Leicester and Edinburgh.
Positioned a notch above, in the five-star segment, The Crest Collection will see its first development in London between now and 2026 with the renovation and transformation of The Cavendish London hotel. As for Paris, where the first links in the brand appeared with the residence La Clef Louvre, followed by La Clef Tour Eiffel and La Clef Champs-ElyséesThe French capital awaits the opening of a fourth member of the Crest Collection. This transfer will be internal to the group, as it will be the result of the transformation of the Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Expected to open by 2028.
