How to get there
Both Innsbruck and Kitzbühel are a two-hour drive from Munich, so a direct flight to the Bavarian capital followed by a transfer by road is the easiest way to reach the Tyrol from Paris.
Lufthansa offers six flights a day between Paris CDG (T1) and Munich. The flights, operated by Airbus A321, have two classes, business and economy.

Poorly paid for his efforts by Ludwig II of Bavaria, the architect of Neuschwanstein Castle was delighted one day to stop off at the Grand Hotel Europa. He found the opportunity to redeem himself by designing a sumptuous reception room in the Baroque style. With its vintage wood, designer furniture and hostesses in traditional Dirndl, the Kitzhof is the perfect embodiment of Alpine modernity. For five generations, the Ultsch family have been looking after the future of their hotel-restaurant, a very upmarket family guesthouse of sorts. So it's only logical that grandma's cooking should be served in the small, dark wood-panelled rooms: Wiener Schnitzel - roasted in butter, as it should be - meats in sauce topped with spätzle, fish from the lakes.

Overlooking Innsbruck, this restaurant is very popular with corporate groups and offers the full range of Tyrolean cuisine, from Gröstl - a mixture of fried eggs, potatoes, bacon and small pieces of beef - to Schlutzkrapfen, ravioli filled with herbs and cheese. At the foot of the Streif, this 49-room hotel welcomes a host of VIPs for the famous ski descent. Events: crystal sparkle
Near Innsbruck, in Wattens, Swaroswki has called on the best artists and architects to stage its Crystal Worlds. Reopened in May after several months of embellishment, this venue hosts corporate events full of enchantment. Along with Swarowski, Riedl is another of the families who came to Tyrol from Bohemia to work with crystal. In Kufstein, the Riedl factory can be visited in small groups, amidst the ballet of master glassmakers blowing the finest glasses for serving wine.
