In 2019, the number of flights to Northern Europe from Marseille is set to increase. A fourth daily service between London Heathrow and Marseille-Provence airports will be introduced by British Airways from 31 March. Business travellers will be able to make a round trip within the day. In addition, there will be more connections to the United States from the London hub.
Stockholm and Copenhagen in June
In addition, the airport in the south of France will welcome SAS Scandinavian Airlines in June 2019. The airline will offer two destinations: Stockholm and Copenhagen, with three flights a week for the former and two flights a week for the latter. The Nordic carrier will initially offer these routes over a period of 6 weeks, and tickets are already available.
As a result of these new connections, Marseille airport, which already welcomed almost 9 million passengers in 2017, is forecasting an increase of 80,000 passengers a year.
