Air traffic controllers, fed up with the progress of negotiations with the airport operator (DFS), could announce the launch of widespread strike action as early as the end of this week. At the same time, tension is also mounting among ground staff: a dozen airports are also threatened by industrial action. In view of the scale of the threat to German and European traffic, the government spoke out on Monday, urging the various parties involved to return to the negotiating table on Wednesday 12 October.
