FORMALITIES
Passport/Visa
French nationals travelling individually or in groups may enter Egypt with a passport with a minimum validity date of six months after the date of return to France. They may also enter Egypt with a national identity card valid for at least six months after the date of return to France. A visa is required and all visa procedures are subject to a fee.
French nationals wishing to visit Egypt on business for a short stay (less than 3 months) must hold a business visa issued before their departure by the Egyptian consular services. They will need to complete a visa application form and submit two passport photos, together with a letter from the company concerned justifying the trip.
French people wishing to settle in Egypt as investors must obtain a visa for up to five years from the relevant authorities in Egypt. French nationals wishing to settle in Egypt for employment purposes must obtain a work permit for a period of up to three years. The steps involved in obtaining a work permit must be taken by the employer. A temporary visa may be issued to cover the duration of the procedure.
In Egypt, you should contact the Passports, Immigration and Nationality Department of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Manpower and Migration in the district where the employer operates. Visa regulations may vary, and it is advisable to contact the Egyptian consular services in France:

Compulsory vaccinations
You should make sure that your usual vaccinations are up to date, particularly diphtheria-tetanus-polio. Vaccination against typhoid fever and viral hepatitis A and B is also recommended.

There are one hour time difference between France and Cairo in winter (+1) and there is no difference in summer.

GETTING THERE
Air France and Egyptair operate daily direct flights between Paris and Cairo. Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and Alitalia have flights with a stopover from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport. Transavia and Tunisair also operate flights from Paris to Cairo with a stopover at Paris Orly.
