China: flying taxis authorised to take off

China takes pole position in the race for flying taxis. Unmanned vehicles from local manufacturer EHang have been certified to launch commercial flights.

Once the Olympic promises for Paris 2024and on the fringes of numerous projects in Europe as in United Statesit's finally the China which could become a pioneer in the flying taxi sector. This seems to be borne out by the new type approval granted to the manufacturer - a Chinese one, of course. EHang. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAAC) has given the go-ahead for the transport of passengers in unmanned flying taxis. Two cities are concerned by this authorisation: Guangzhou and Hefei. According to information gathered by CNBC, the first flights could begin as early as June.
