ADP and Fraportairport managers Paris and Frankfurthave unveiled their results for the month of January. Two opposite trends emerge from these figures. Paris Airports recorded an increase in passenger traffic of 8.7% compared with January 2024. This increase was driven by the performance of Paris CDG (+10.5%) rather than Orly (+4.6%). In total, Paris Airports recorded 7,571,055 passengers in January, including 5,328,718 for the CDG hub alone. While traffic is up on 2024, 2019 levels have not yet been reached. This will not be long in coming, given that activity at the Paris airports has reached 97.8 % of pre-Covid traffic. Paris CDG has even recovered 99.3% of its 2019 traffic.
Another European air hub had a quieter January. L'Frankfurt airport saw its activity fall by 3.1 1TP3Q compared with 2024. 3.9 million passengers were recorded last month. And the pre-pandemic volume of activity seems even further away for the German hub. Traffic in 2025 remains significantly lower than in 2019: -15.3%. Operator Fraport explains this poor performance by the reduction in air services by the Lufthansa group.
