From the top of its sourcing platforms, Cvent looks at the world's leading MICE destinations and meeting hotels. With a record $16.5 billion of sourcing activity and tenders managed in 2024 via the Cvent Supplier Network, this key technology provider for MICE is well placed to offer its insight into the most popular cities for event organisers. Despite a decline in organiser optimism due to macroeconomic uncertainty and rising costs, almost 90 % of organisers expect the number of meetings to increase in 2025, according to Cvent's 2025 Planner Sourcing Report.
Cvent's 2025 rankings confirm London's place as Europe's top meetings destination". for the third year running "said Fiona Plumpton, Head of Services at the London Convention Bureau. Just like last year, the British capital is ahead of Barcelona and Madrid in a ranking where Amsterdam moved up two places to fourth place. Unlike the ICCA rankings, where Paris fell from first place in 2023 to sixth place in 2024, the impact of the Olympics has not been felt in Cvent's analysis. On the contrary, the French capital even moved up one place to sixth position. Conversely, the German cities have fallen back, with Berlin dropping from 4th to 4th place.e to 7e place, while Munich and Frankfurt dropped out of the top 10 to make way for Prague and Dublin, the former driven by the growing popularity of medium-sized conferences and the latter by major international events such as the Dublin Tech Summit.
In North America, Orlando, like London, continues to be the leading destination, and has been since 2015. The Floridian metropolis is firmly attached to first placesaid Visit Orlando CEO Casandra Matej, underlining that " the forthcoming expansion of the Orange County Convention Center and regular additions of new and refurbished hotels and resorts will continue to strengthen our position as a leading meetings destination" . Las Vegas obviously remains the other major MICE destination on the other side of the Atlantic, ahead of Chicago, which has moved up three places since last year. Cvent's 2025 rankings highlight other gains, in particular that of Atlanta and the entry of Washington D.C. into the Top 10.
No surprise there, Dubai remains the most popular destination for organisers in the Middle East & Africa region. " A testament to the city's continued growth as a global hub for business events" said Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. Istanbul and Abu Dhabi complete the podium, as they did last year. Cairo, in sixth place last year, has dropped out of the top 10, as has Casablanca, both of which have been replaced by Nairobi and Kuwait City, in eighth and ninth place respectively.
Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney, Tokyo, Melbourne : the top five MICE cities in Asia-Pacific have retained their rankings. Edward Koh, Executive Director of MICE at the Singapore Tourism Board, explained that " being awarded this title for the seventh time since 2016 underlines our high standards of safety, exceptional connectivity and unwavering commitment to delivering innovative event experiences in a sustainable way" . While Seoul has dropped two places in the rankings and Phuket has dropped out of the top 10, Kuala Lumpur, Bali and Shanghai have each climbed one place, while Beijing has entered the top 10 this year.
Finally, for the first time, Cvent has also published its Top 10 MICE cities in Latin America and the Caribbean. This is a first, rewarding in particular Mexican destinations with Cancun and the Riviera Maya in first place, Cabo San Lucas in third and Playa Del Carmen in fourth, while Punta Mita closes the top 10. San Juan in Puerto Rico and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic also stand out in this ranking.
