Delta Air Lines is ramping up again in the North Atlantic. Following the reopening of air routes from Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Lisbon and Paris CDGOn 5 August, the carrier relaunched flights from Dublin to New York JFK. Since then, the two cities have been linked three times a week by Airbus A330-300.
The company will also be increasing the number of flights on London-Heathrow. This decision was taken with the lifting of restrictions on American travellers.
Delta will thus double the number of flights on New York-JFK on 6 October. Two daily flights will be offered on this date. The carrier will also be resuming three flights a week to Seattle from 7 October, followed by four weekly flights to Detroit on 11 October. Delta Air Lines will also continue to serve the London-Atlanta route with one daily flight.
In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, Delta is also offering 30 flights a week to Boston, Los Angeles and Miami. The flights are operated by the British airline.
Agreement with Thalys
What's more, Delta now cooperates with the Thalys network for combined air + rail travel to and from Belgium. Passengers landing at Amsterdam Schiphol can combine their transatlantic flight with a connecting flight to Antwerp and Brussels. The two cities can be reached in an hour or less.
According to Alain Bellemare, Chairman of Delta Internationalthis programme air + rail is set to expand in the coming months. Amsterdam is, along with Paris, Delta's most important hub in Europe. Since July, the airline has extended its Schiphol network to Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City and Seattle.
