DOSSIER - Brussels: Europe's star pupil

A skilful change of direction. Brussels has gone from being a traditional industry to a cutting-edge 4.0 industry. Centres of excellence dedicated to health, new technologies and the media are springing up all over the city, often on former industrial wastelands. As a result, Brussels is taking on a new face, particularly around the canal, which is becoming the centre of the city's cultural life. Even the European Quarter is overcoming its bad reputation as a soulless place where, not so long ago, you only met businessmen and Eurocrats in a hurry, to become a pleasant place to live.
