Milan: a creative capital for Italy
Milan is a capital city. The capital of Lombardy, one of the richest regions in Europe, but also and above all the capital of Italy's economic and financial life, home to the major national and international companies that have moved into the new business districts, changing the profile of the city. But Milan, as we all know, is also the capital of design and fashion, of trade fairs and exhibitions, of bel canto and the famous risotto... a dish that can be prepared in a thousand and one ways. This year, Milan even becomes, for a few months, the centre of the world when it hosts the Universal Exhibition, from 1 May to 31 October. Report by Cécile Balavoine - Photos by Ludovic Maisant
