DOSSIER - New York: Manhattan on the move

New York is constantly undergoing a metamorphosis. In recent years, dozens of new towers have sprung up, symbols of its economic power. In keeping with the 'green' trend, NYC is becoming ever cleaner. The banks of its two rivers have been transformed into vast parks where people can breathe deeply; cycle paths now criss-cross the avenues, while gardens and beehives have sprung up on the rooftops. As a result, tourism is on the up. This creates new jobs, more wealth and more hotel rooms. In ten years, the number of hotels in New York has more than doubled. As has the number of airlines offering flights to the city that never sleeps. Report by Cécile Balavoine - Photos Ludovic Maisant
