DOSSIER - New York: to the other side of the East River

A new record: at the beginning of 2014, New York had never had so many inhabitants or so many jobs. At a time when the global economy is in the doldrums, the Big Apple is sparkling. All the boroughs, from Manhattan to Brooklyn and Queens, are rolling up their sleeves to create new business sectors. New media and cutting-edge technologies are in pole position, earning New York its recent nickname of Silicon Alley. And new sectors mean new ways of working: in super-creative, alternative community spaces. As for the hotel industry, the classic approach continues, as Midtown remains in the spotlight with openings all along the avenues.
