DOSSIER - Seattle: the Pacific Northwest spirit
Seattle, once a small village of fishermen and gold miners on their way to Alaska, has become a true city of innovation. A technology hub supported by giants such as Amazon and Microsoft; a city where thirty-somethings compete in creativity.
As a result of this economic boom and strong growth in tourism, many new hotels have sprung up, from boutique hotels to large business establishments. Whatever the reasons for a stay in Seattle, no one can escape the powerful sense of openness that pervades the city. A metropolis open to the world, of course; to other cultures, of course; but also remarkably turned towards nature. And that's what we call the "Pacific Northwest" spirit.
