Deutsche Bahn's French office to close on 30 June

As a cost-saving measure, Deutsche Bahn (DB) is reorganising its activities in France by closing its Paris representative office on 30 June. activities will be transferred to Frankfurt. This one had been created twenty years ago and generated sales of €50m a year through a substantial group business, business travel and business tourism. Deutsche Bahn points out that customer contracts will be terminated as and when required taking into account the contractual deadlines. However, the German rail company is taking a positive view of the closure, saying that " this reorganisation will enable international distribution to consolidate relations with European partners and be more responsive in decision-making" . As far as ticket distribution is concerned, DB is now pushing the Internet with www.bahn.com/fr, its general website (network, timetables, bookings, etc.) which was redesigned in 2014 to increase sales online. For international ticket sales, the company is also relying on its distribution partners such as SNCF, the reservation platform Captain Train and the Kelbillet website. Finally, in 2013, it launched Rail Client (www.db-rc.com), a booking site dedicated to French travel agencies so that they can issue tickets for their leisure and business customers on both its German and international routes.
