The Thai channel Dusit International has officially established itself in Singapore with the opening of the Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore. This futuristic-looking resort includes 198 rooms and suites as well as eight private pavilions. All set in the heart of the Laguna National Golf & Country Club, one of the largest golf courses in Singapore. The hotel is close to Singapore Changi International Airport. This location will make it an ideal MICE destination once the covid pandemic is under control.
For Dusit, the opening of the resort on 4 December is more than just an opening. It will be the chain's first venture into another major city in South-East Asia, in this case Singapore.
The Singapore establishment marks the end of a year in which the Group has inaugurated hotels in Doha (dusitD2 Salwa Doha), Guam (Dusit Beach Resort), Bangkok (ASAI Chinatown) and Suzhou in China (Dusit Thani Wellness Resort).

A challenge for Dusit in the context of the pandemic?
The Singapore establishment has been designed according to the Group's new criteria, which are the basis of its DNA: personalised service, well-being, local integration and sustainability. The Group has also incorporated the new post-covid health protocols.
Once the health situation is under control, the Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore hopes to win over business customers. The complex offers a spacious conference room, three meeting rooms and a reception room that can accommodate 520 people. Three green spaces are also available for events.
The hotel is close to Changi Business Park, Singapore Expo and the Tampines business district.
A challenge to open a new hotel in such a context? The directors of Dusit International are optimistic. Visit Eric Piatti, Managing Director of Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore, " Opening the resort despite closed borders may seem difficult. However, demand for stays in the domestic market remains high.
