After Paris CDG airport last March, Eklo has set up shop near another key stop-off point for business travellers: Montpellier's Saint-Roch station. Located just opposite the station, five minutes from the Place de la Comédie, the new hotel from the business and lifestyle chain has taken its place in an area undergoing major change. A familiar sight for the chain, which has been present in the area since last year. in the Cartoucherie eco-neighbourhood in Toulouse and in the Grand Parilly district on the outskirts of Lyon.

The tenth hotel in France, Eklo Montpellier offers 111 rooms, divided into several categories, from Solo to Family rooms, including Duo rooms and private dormitories equipped with bunk beds. One of the hallmarks of this brand is its mix of traditional rooms, which account for 80% of the total, and 20% of atypical accommodation. Another of Eklo's fundamentals, large design spaces Eklo is taking advantage of this opening in Montpellier to launch its new guinguette-style F&B brand, French Kiss.

But the hotel also has a cosy and welcoming work area open to all, with free WiFi, as well as a private space for meetingsWe also cater for business lunches and events, for around fifteen people.

If Eklo is surfing the lifestyle trend at a low price, it's time to get in on the action, eco-responsibility is another of our priorities of the chain, marked in Montpellier by the refurbishment of an existing office building into a hotel, brought up to current standards. This CSR commitment is also reflected in the use of local producers, in particular the Caféo coffee roaster, the recycling of waste collected by Les Alchimistes and the ban on individual packaging and plastic bottles.

While Eklo is aiming to have 40 hotels in the next ten years, the chain has just formalised its long-term CSR ambitions. With measurable and measured commitments. Eklo, for example, commissioned a full CSR audit of its business from Betterfly Tourism, the brand's partner since 2018 in displaying the energy performance of its establishments. This display is set to evolve, with Betterfly proposing a revamped environmental label inspired by Nutriscore. According to this independent organisation, the average Eco-score for Eklo hotels is 24.36, which is above average. Or an overall rating of A for the Group, thanks to tight control over water and energy consumption and the use of certified organic products.

To go further, based on the results of the audit, Eklo has identified five priority areas for action structuring your CSR strategy which focus on responsible catering, improving the quality of life and job satisfaction of our teams, and local presence. As a member of the Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat, Eklo will also be embarking on a low-carbon path through an action plan starting in January 2024. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Eklo will be using the "Diag Décarbon'Action" support programme offered by BPI France in conjunction with ADEME. In all, some thirty priority actions have already been defined, and will be rolled out over the next 18 months.
