
Etihad continues to build on its expansionary momentum with the addition of new destinations and new aircraft. This is reflected in its financial results. The carrier recorded 10.2 million passengers in the first half of 2025. This represents a year-on-year increase of 17%, supported by a 14% rise in available seat kilometres. The passenger load factor reached 87%, up two points year-on-year. At the beginning of July, the company passed the 20 million passengers transported in the last 12 months, doubling its 2022 performance. This makes Etihad the fastest growing carrier in the region.
Profit after tax was US$306 millionThis represents an increase of 32% compared with the same period last year. Total sales rose by 16% year-on-year.
New aircraft, new lines
The arrival of new aircraft has boosted growth. The Etihad fleet now exceeds 100 aircraft. Notably with the delivery of Etihad's sixth Airbus A350 in April and the entry into service of a seventh A380 in May.
In July 2025, the company added five new aircraft to its fleetwhose first A321LR. It is equipped with a business class and a first class whose luxury is comparable to that of a jumbo jet. Etihad is offering its A321LR with First Class suites and fully reclining Business seats on Phuket as well as on several medium-haul routes.
Virtuous circle : the arrival of new aircraft means an avalanche of new destinations. 27 destinations are on the programme this year, with Taipei and Peshawar opening this September and Phnom Penh in October. This should enable Etihad to reach a network of 100 destinations by the end of the year...
