Finnish Commuter Airlines acquired by the Finnair-Flybe duo

Finnish airline Finnair and Britain's Flybe have joined forces to acquire regional carrier Finnish Commuter Airlines.

The two carriers have thus acquired Finland's largest regional airline. Finnish Commuter Airlines will now operate under the name Flybe Nordic with the ambition of becoming the leading airline in Scandinavia and the Baltic States. The airline's first flights took place on 30 October 2011.
