As recently announced, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will continue to expand its services next summer by offering its passengersan extensive and varied flight programme. Its top priority remains the stability of its offering.
Swiss plans to offer around 85 % of 2019 capacity in summer 2023. From Geneva, Swiss will expand its portfolio of destinations by adding four new destinations: Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Hamburg. These cities will benefit from four weekly flights: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
In addition to the long-haul destination New YorkPassengers can choose between 46 European destinations from Geneva. This represents a near doubling of frequencies compared to the winter period. Swiss serves 26 destinations during the IATA winter season.
New Premium cabins in 2025?
The airline is capitalising on Geneva airport's return to a level of passenger numbers more in line with its importance in Switzerland. Over the first ten months of the year, Cointrin airport welcomed 11.8 million passengersThis represents a decline of 22.8% compared with the same period in 2019. However, this represents an increase of 1,59% compared with 2021. The airport should therefore end the year with between 13.5 and 14 million passengers.
What's more, Swiss has announced that it is to equip its long-haul aircraft with the brand new Allegris First and Business Class.. This reconfiguration will take place with the delivery of new aircraft. The two classes will be the same as the parent company's future products Lufthansa. These new classes should be launched in 2025 according to Executive Traveller magazine.
