Gothenburg: business tourism goes sustainable

How does Göteborg make a difference when it comes to organising a sustainable and inclusive event? " Since 1991, we have set standards that demonstrate our commitment to becoming the best possible sustainable destination. And to make Gothenburg the first choice for MICE organisers. "says Ulrika Scoliège.

MICE in the sustainable development movement

This classification as the most sustainable city is in fact the result of exemplary cooperation between all the economic, tourism and social players. " We are therefore convinced that MICE is not simply an economic factor generating revenue for the city. A major event must also help to improve everyday life of our citizens "she explains.

In terms of sustainable development, Gothenburg is already a champion of green energy in its public transport. But that's not all: the famous Liseberg theme park, for example, runs on 100 % of renewable energy. Göteborg Landvetter International Airport, for its part, has had the highest level of environmental accreditation in Europe's carbon-neutral air transport programme since 2011.

" We are convinced that MICE events can have a positive impact on the development of our society. Like long-term transmission.
