Hyatt is continuing to expand in France's regional cities. After Paris and the Côte d'Azur, the hotelier recently extended its network to Rouen, with a Hyatt Place, as well as to Bordeaux and Toulouse with two First Name hotels affiliated to its lifestyle brand Joie de Vivre. This time, the group is moving into Reims with the opening of a hotel under the Hyatt Centric brand, which focuses on upmarket, contemporary hotels.

The result of the transformation of the former Mercure Reims Centre Cathédrale - owned by the Alboran group, like the two First Name hotels in Bordeaux and Toulouse -This new Hyatt hotel is part of the internationalisation of the hotel industry in Reims, following on from the recent openings of a Radisson and a Holiday Inn and, more recently, the Caserne Chanzy, owned by the Marriott group. This should make the city even more attractive to leisure travellers, particularly Anglo-Saxon, but also to business travellers.

Taking advantage of its proximity to Paris by TGV as well as the Champagne region's economic fabric, the Hyatt Centric Reims aims to establish itself as a choice venue for meetings and events, with eight modular meeting rooms suitable for conferences, seminars and receptions. Located in the city centre on boulevard Paul Doumer, just across the canal from the Aisne to the Marne, the Hyatt Centric Reims offers groups and visiting business travellers 155 rooms and suites, decorated in natural tones and with materials inspired by the neighbouring vineyards.

On the F&B side, its Le Néo restaurant uses charcoal cooking to reinvent French cuisine classics, and its Bar 'by Le Néo' offers inventive cocktails and a champagne list combining small producers and prestigious houses. All of this, plus a boutique inspired by the chalk cellars where you can find a selection of niche champagne houses and local products.

" This opening marks an important milestone in the strategic expansion of the Hyatt Centric brand, as it enables us to meet the growing demand from guests for more modern and exploratory accommodation. "said Michel Morauw, Managing Director Northern Europe, Hyatt. The opening of this hotel supports the growth of the Hyatt Centric brand, which plans to expand its presence by 50 % by the end of 2029, to more than 100 hotels worldwide.
