
Following the recent announcement of future developments in ThailandHyatt unveils its ambitions in India. Its expansion plan includes 70 % growth in its brand portfolio with around twenty hotels to be opened over the next two years, adding to the current offer of 32 establishments under eight brands.
The number of hotels should reach 50 by the end of 2023. " Hyatt's pipeline in India reflects a considered growth strategy by expanding into new markets and leisure destinations" said Dhruva Rathore, Hyatt's vice president of real estate and development in India. " India remains a growth driver for Hyattand we are committed to meeting the needs of Indian travellers with a diverse portfolio of hotels." said Sunjae Sharma, Vice President and Country Manager, Hyatt India.
Aimed at international travellers, but also and above all at local customers, the brands Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Place are spearheading this expansion partly focused on secondary Indian cities. Several openings are planned for this year, with Hyatt Regency entering two new markets - Jaipur and Trivandrum - while Hyatt Place will quadruple its stake by setting up in Bodh Gaya, Jaipur Malviya Nagar, Vadodara and Bharuch.
With hotels positioned for business as well as leisure, and featuring both dynamic event venues Hyatt Regency will continue its expansion with a second hotel in Jaipur and others in Dehradun, Ghaziabad, Goa, Kasauli, Surat and Udaipur, in addition to the Kochi Malayattoor resort. The more casual Hyatt Place will appear at Vijayawada, Dehradun Rajpur Road, Kolhapur Shiroli, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam Madhurawada.
The American group is also expanding through other brands such as Hyatt Centric, whose an offering geared towards millennials These include Electronic City in Bangalore, Sector 17 in Chandigarh and Lonavala. In a more sophisticated style, Grand Hyatts are also expected in Gurgaon and Jaipur.
