Air transport's convalescence intensified in July according to IATA

IATA has confirmed that the air transport industry has indeed entered a recovery phase, even if this may have fizzled out with the arrival of autumn. July 2021 in fact recorded growth rates on all markets compared with July 2020.

In July, passenger growth, expressed in RPK (revenue/passenger/km) rose, according to the latest official figures from IATAby almost 130% compared with last year. But the statistics can be misleading. After all, growth is still at half-mast compared with 2019. The improvement is certainly visible compared with the first few months of the year.

Nevertheless, IATA notes that number of passengers expressed in RPK is still 53.1% lower than in July 2019.
