IHG is introducing its premium brand voco for the first time in East Africa, near Nairobi Airport. Located off Mombasa Road, 8 km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and a few minutes’ walk from the Nairobi Terminus SGR train station connecting the Kenyan capital to Mombasa, this property will strengthen the British group’s offering by adding a fourth hotel in Kenya, close to the Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport, which opened in 2018.
In this airport-themed environment, voco Nairobi Airport Suites adds a residential component for business travelers between two flights, as in a long-haul mission. The property consists solely of suites, a total of 112. Featuring one or two bedrooms, they all have a separate living room, a dining area and an equipped kitchenette, in addition to a work area and a balcony.
In addition, with a MICE space of more than 600 m² composed of 4 rooms, the largest of which, the Mara Hall, can accommodate from 160 to 180 people, the establishment serves as a convenient base for small meetings such as conferences and larger events. In terms of F&B and relaxation, the hotel offers a rooftop with a swimming pool accompanied by the Kilimanjaro Restaurant, with buffet, menu and barbecue. These are complemented by the Savannah Lounge cocktail bar, the intimate Cigar Haven and a café open day and night, the Malt & Mocha. The hotel also offers a fitness room and free parking.
" The opening of voco Nairobi Airport Suites marks an exciting milestone », according to Haitham Mattar, General Manager India, Middle East and Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts, for whom Nairobi is « one of the most dynamic and well-connected entry points in the region, with increasing demand from business and leisure travelers for flexible and quality accommodations ".
