Strike threatened at Air Canada

Air Canada flights are likely to be disrupted tonight as a result of a strike notice issued by cabin crew. Nearly 7,000 staff are affected by the strike, which is expected to cause delays and cancellations.

Massive strike action is set to begin at Air Canada on the morning of Wednesday 21 September, following 72 hours' notice served by the cabin crew union. Negotiations with management are still underway, but the airline is urging passengers to postpone their travel if at all possible. Air Canada has also relaxed the conditions for changing tickets to facilitate flight postponements free of charge until 9 December.
