Most often seen as the gateway to the country, Incheon has developed its own strengths to establish itself as a destination in its own right. In addition to the international airportIncheon, as renowned as it is for the quality of its facilities, regularly hosts major events, often as part of a combined stay with Seoul. And with good reason: the proximity of the capital - some fifty kilometres away - offers obvious logistical advantages for the organisers, and of course makes it easier to get the guests to their return flight.
It is here, in Incheon, that the highest of the 39 Unique Venues listed by KTO (Korea Tourism Organization): the Panoramic 65installed at the top - at 65e floor of the hotel Oakwood Premier. A top-of-the-range space with an uninterrupted view of the sea, the restaurant can accommodate around sixty guests, with a total capacity of 120. In a completely different style, all horizontal and in raw concrete - the architecture has won several awards, Cosmo40 set up business four years ago in a former chemical products factory, the number of which it bears. The four-storey wasteland has a comfortable capacity of a thousand people, and can also rely on its outdoor spaces - especially as this industrial site, which is in the process of gentrification, is not likely to have any complaints about noisy events in the neighbourhood... Concerts are therefore common here, as are artistic performances more generally, as well as fashion shows and car launches.
A city within a city, an event paradise
Third site, and third atmosphere: the luxury and excess of the Incheon Paradise City Hotel & Resort. Situated at or near the foot of the runways of the international airport, the complex can meet virtually any request from an event organiser.... Casino, indoor and outdoor pools, traditional Korean sauna and even a real amusement park on site: a small town dedicated to entertainment has emerged in 2017. In fact, the resort's managers prefer the term "art-tainment" to describe the positioning of the establishment, which has a total of some 3,000 works of art (Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, David LaChapelle...). The ability of resort (700 rooms) is complemented by two more exclusive 'annexes': the Art Paradiso boutique hotel and even a Deluxe Pool Villa capable of accommodating six VIPs. The MICE catalogue is equally impressive, with capacities suited to both mega-events and top management meetings. The Grand Ballroom has a capacity of 1,820 guests, to which must be added the 440 seats in the Sapphire Room and the 310 seats in the Salle de Paris. Emerald.
