All the lights are green on the Eurostar network, which, in the wake of traffic levels unprecedented since its launch in 1994, has just announced results that are logically positive. On 5 March, the rail company unveiled its figures for the 2013 financial year, marked by a combined increase in sales (+7% to £857 million) and operating income (+4% to £54 million).

Corporate customers helped to drive Eurostar's growth, thanks in particular to British business travellers: "After an uncertain economic climate, we have seen signs of a return to confidence over the period, mainly in the British market", explains Nicolas Petrovic, Managing Director. Overall, business travel sales rose by 6.2% in 2013, compared with 7.5% for the leisure segment.

This bodes well for the launch of Eurostar's anniversary, as Nicolas Petrovic says: "2014 will be a key year for Eurostar. As we continue to work on our service, it will be a year of innovation, creating new opportunities in our markets both in Europe and internationally. Eurostar is coming to an important moment in its history and will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Many celebrations are expected throughout the year".
