Being as close as possible to major hubs or central stations: in Switzerland, this desire has already materialised in the form of a hotel near the Zurich hub.
To make its entry into French-speaking Switzerland today, the Deutsche Hospitality Group brand has followed this guiding principle by setting up shop not far from Geneva-Cointrin airport, in the Etang district. A former industrial site redeveloped as a new urban centre with sustainable ambitions, marked by the award of the SNBS-Quartier label. Located in the commune of Vernier, this redevelopment project, known as Evolution+ Quartier de l'Étang, combines housing and schools, a shopping centre and office buildings, bars and restaurants.
As for the hotel component, it was already present in the Etang district with the opening last March of a B&B Hotels and an Adina aparthotel. The InterCity brand has just been added with a 270-room establishment with a restaurant and bar and a wellness area. Close to the airport and the Palexpo congress centre, as well as to the centre of the Swiss metropolis, this business hotel has conference facilities including five meeting rooms.
