LAN expands its network in Colombia

The Chilean company has launched a subsidiary in Colombia, its fourth on the South American continent.

Following the acquisition of the Colombian airline Aires at the end of 2010, LAN has launched a subsidiary which will connect 22 domestic destinations in addition to an international flight between Bogota, the capital, and Fort Lauderdale in the United States. LAN Colombia is thus the Group's fourth subsidiary with a national focus, after LAN Argentina, LAN Ecuador and Lan Peru. The Chilean airline, which is a member of the Oneworld alliance, is thus extending its offer to a continent undergoing rapid growth, while at the same time the merger with the Brazilian airline LAM is still in progress. This should be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2012, giving rise to LATAM Airlines.
