
Holiday Inn Express joins the trend with the presentation of a new lobby concept for hotels in the vast Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa region. While " deployment of a new generation of bedrooms is underway" as Eric Viale, Managing Director of IHG Southern Europe, explained in a recent interviewthe world's largest hotel brand, with 3,200 hotels, is going to give a lifestyle twist to the welcome at its establishments.
These new public areas, named Generation 5 after the previous one in 2016, combine design and local touches, but above all add flexibility to meet the new expectations of customers. All customers, since the development of this concept included the involvement of a disability task force to better understand the difficulties that people with reduced mobility have in moving around hotel lobbies. " Generation 5 will ensure that the Holiday Inn Express brand meets the needs of travellers through experiential zones designed around their lifestyle, between the calm zones of the Focus Studio and the energy of the EXPRESS Café & Bar" said John Wright, Vice President of Mainstream Brands for IHG in EMEAA.
The brand aims to have 500 hotels in operation or signed in the region within the next three years, compared with 350 currently open, this new lobby will make its debut next year in Saudi Arabia, with the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Riyadh. Ten other projects have already been announced in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe, in addition to other expressions of interest from around twenty establishments.
