Polish airline LOT is keen to continue expanding its network in Asia. LOT has just announced the launch of a new route to Seoul. Launched next October, the route will be served three times a week from Warsaw with a Boeing 787 offering three classes of service (Business, Premium Economy and Economy). Last year, the Polish airline also announced its intention to launch a regular service to Bangkok. These routes are in addition to the existing ones. The airline has been offering flights to Beijing for several years and, since January 2016, it has also been offering three flights a week from Warsaw to Tokyo Narita.
On 17 July, Italy's national airline Alitalia inaugurated its new non-stop service between Rome and Beijing, a route it had closed in 2013. The airline is offering four flights a week with 250-seat Airbus A330s. The flights have immediate connections with some fifty destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. This is Alitalia's third destination in Asia after Tokyo and Seoul. In total, Alitalia offers 22 weekly flights from Italy to Asia. The carrier offers 15 weekly frequencies from Rome Fiumicino and seven weekly flights between Milan Malpensa and Tokyo.
