the national carrier LOT continues to strengthen in France, becoming an ever more important player on the Paris-Central and Eastern Europe axis.« This is a deliberate expansion policy that has been in place for several years now and positions Warsaw as a major hub between Western and Eastern Europe«, says Yann Saint-Sorny, France director of the Polish airline.
LOT offers up to 5 daily flights to France, with three daily frequencies between Paris CDG and Warsaw, as well as a daily flight from Lyon and Nice to the Polish capital. In addition, depending on the schedule of European parliamentary sessions, there is a weekly frequency to Strasbourg. At the same time, LOT is present at Orly with regional destinations, making it one of the few international airlines with stops at both Parisian airports.« In 2025, we positioned ourselves on the Orly-Krakow route, which we operate year-round with excellent load factors. This encouraged the airline's management to launch a new route from Orly to Gdansk next year.«, says Yann Saint-Sorny.
The route will start on 5 April 2027, with four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. It will be operated using a Boeing 737 MAX 8.« It will allow French travellers, in particular, to combine Paris-Gdansk-Krakow tours with a different entry and exit point«, adds the France director.
In fact, Gdansk will also be an interesting destination for business travellers. Located on the Baltic Sea, the former city of Danzig is one of the most important cities in the region with some 500,000 inhabitants and more than 1.5 million in its metropolitan area. It remains one of the leading ports (along with Gdynia) on the Baltic.
In addition to the Orly-Gdansk route, LOT is continuing to strengthen its Asian network for the 2026/2027 winter season. The airline is launching on 7 October next six weekly flights to Bangkok departing from Warsaw on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with a possible connection from France. Vietnam will follow with Warsaw-Hanoi, scheduled to launch on 31 March 2027. LOT plans three flights a week, also operated by a Boeing 787-8, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays departing from Warsaw.
Boeing 787 Dreamliners are also starting to be fitted with a new business class. More intimate with a removable partition separating each seat, the LOT «Business Suite» has a 2-1-2 configuration, with each passenger now enjoying direct aisle access. The first reconfigured Boeing 787 is scheduled for the end of this year.
