Frankfurt airport is still very saturated. A situation taken into account by Lufthansa, which consequently continues to strengthen its position Munich hub. It also offers a more pleasant infrastructure for transfer passengers.
On departure from the Bavarian capital, Lufthansa is proposing the following increases in frequency: the airline will increase its weekly flights from Munich from 5 to 7. Bangalore5 to 6 flights a week on Denver4 to 5 weekly flights on Montréal and 5 to 6 weekly flights on Washington.
However, the company will be reducing its frequencies to Dubai (from 5 to 4 flights/week) and Tokyo-Haneda (from 7 to 5 flights/week). Lufthansa is also changing the operating days on routes to Charlotte and San Diego but without frequency reduction.
More Allegris from Munich
Lufthansa confirms the entry into service of the Airbus A350-900 equipped with the new cabins Allegris to almost a dozen destinations from Munich. The German carrier will offer a daily flight with the Allegris product to New York (John F. Kennedy and Newark), Chicago, Miami, Shanghai, Cape Town and Tokyo. Bangalore will also be served by the A350-900 Allegris on three weekly flights.
At the same time, Lufthansa has opened its fully refurbished First Class lounge at the airport. Located in the heart of Terminal 2 of the Lufthansa hub, the 1000 m2 lounge features a new gastronomic area with an à la carte restaurant, a buffet and an exclusive bar.
The lounge has a number of areas, one dedicated to relaxation and rest, another to work, and another a TV area. There is also a large toilet with shower facilities. The lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 22:00.
At the same time, Lufthansa plans to reduce frequencies on several routes from Frankfurt. These are the routes to Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hyderabad, Cape Town, Nairobi, Seattle, Teheran and Vancouver. These are generally one or two frequencies per week that are disappearing.
