• MIRASIERRA SUITES HOTEL Not far from the Kio Towers business district and the Paseo de la Castellana congress centre, the Mirasierra Suites, part of the Warwick collection, is one of Madrid's many hotels - of which there are almost 60 % - to be located close to a convention centre. As the official hotel of Real Madrid, it boasts a beautiful swimming pool, giving it the feel of a city resort, but it is still very much a business hotel, as it can organise all kinds of events thanks to its nine meeting and function rooms. • RADISSON BLU MADRID PRADO Opened in 2009 in a building just a stone's throw from the Prado, the Radisson Blu has played the traditional card by preserving the original decorative features: staircase, patio, old façade. This 54-room boutique hotel uses raw wood, brick red and ethnic sculptures. There are some very fine conference rooms bathed in natural light, as well as a magnificent terrace. • MERCURE MADRID SANTO DOMINGO The Mercure Santo Domingo, near the Gran Via, is a business hotel that skilfully combines work and pleasure. • ESTADO PURO Multi-starred chef Paco Roncero, who runs the very smart La Terraza in Madrid's casino, has opened two casual but highly stylish tapas bars: the first at the NH Paseo del Prado, the second at the NH Palacio de Tepa. Tapas with foie gras and spiced jam, mini-burgers, unstructured desserts: the culinary approach is very personal.
