Marrakech has the wind in its sailsparticularly with American companies. Just one year after United of an unprecedented flight from New Yorknow it's the turn of Delta to position themselves in the destination. A new flight Atlanta-Marrakech was recently unveiled by the American carrier. Operations are scheduled to begin on 25 October next. The flight will be operated by a Boeing 767-400ER configured in four classes, with Wi-Fi access.
Marrakech is not the only African destination to see Delta step up a gear. The company had already launched a daily flight between New York and Accra last October. It is also preparing to link its Atlanta hub to the capital of Ghana. Like the JFK-Accra flight, the Atlanta-Accra will be powered by an Airbus A330-900neo. The new flight will start on 1st Decemberand will be operated on a daily basis.
Delta now operates non-stop flights to five African destinations throughout the year. Matteo Curcio, Delta's Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, saidAfrica and India, says: " L'Africa is home to some of the world's most dynamic cities, rich traditions and growing economies, and Delta is making it easier than ever to get there. These new routes open doors for travellers seeking business opportunities, cultural exploration and rewarding relationships. ".
