Morocco is the preferred destination for hotel groups. The 2030 World Cup deadline has a lot to do with it, as does the country's attractiveness to tourists and business travellers alike. Ascott, Hilton, Hyatt, Radisson which has just opened a long-stay establishment in Taghazout: the major players in the sector are all vying for development projects in the Cherifian kingdom. Marriott, the world's leading hotel group, is no exception to this trend, with the announcement of seven new establishments across the country.

Already boasting 10 hotels under six of its brands in Rabat, Marrakech, Fez, Tamuda Bay and, of course, Casablanca with the opening of a 145-room Le Méridien hotel last July, the American hotelier will be diversifying its presence in Morocco with the introduction of four new brands to the market. Most of these developments will focus on the country's key city, Casablanca.

To begin with, the Four Points by Sheraton Casablanca Bouskoura will make its debut in the third quarter of 2026. This will be followed in 2027 by an establishment under its budget lifestyle brand Moxy and a Residence Inn aparthotel, in addition to the AC by Marriott Casablanca La Corniche. Meanwhile, the Autograph Collection, another new brand on Moroccan soil, is expected to open a 22-room Amerruk hotel in Marrakech.

" With the planned arrival of Four Points by Sheraton, Moxy Hotels, Residence Inn by Marriott, Autograph Collection Hotels and AC by Marriott, we are not only expanding our portfolio of brands, but also reaffirming our commitment to supporting the dynamism of the Moroccan tourism sector and the country's economic development. "said Ronny Maier, Regional Vice President Southern Europe & Northwest Africa, Marriott International.

Among the Marriott brands already established in Morocco, a Marriott Hotels resort is expected to open in Taghazout in early 2026 and, at the very end of the year, Design Hotels will welcome a new member, Villa Sahrai, also in Casablanca. At the same time, the American group is also revamping its existing hotels, with new villas at the Ritz-Carlton Rabat and Dar Es Salam, two new dining areas at the Marriott Fès Jnan Palace - the Spanish restaurant Pachamama and the Croon Lounge cocktail bar - and the ongoing renovation of the Méridien N'Fis in Marrakech.
