Marriott strengthens its position in Turkey, particularly in Istanbul

Marriott International is continuing to grow in Turkey, with 10 openings planned by the end of 2022, most of them in Istanbul.

Already present in Turkey with 17 of its brands, Marriott International is preparing to strengthen its offer in this country at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. Around ten openings are scheduled to open there between now and the end of 2022, bringing the American group's offer to 43 establishments. The country's economic capital, Istanbulis at the heart of this offensive, with eight hotels planned, while the group's flagship brand, Marriott Hotels, has just opened in Izmir.

On the occasion of all these developments, Marriott to launch another of its business travel brands in TurkeyResidence Inn. This long-stay brand will be making its debut in Istanbul later this year in the Atasehir district on the Asian shore, with a range of studios and suites - including a presidential suite - equipped with kitchenettes. Also in the extended stay segment, the American group will open the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Residences Istanbul next year.

Another brand in the spotlight among these projects is the mid-range, limited-service chain Four Points by Sheraton will see two new openings in the coming months. The first is planned for this year in Istanbul, close to the Maslak and Levent business districts, with the Four Points by Sheraton Istanbul Kagithane. At the same time, next year the brand will be setting up in the town of Elazig, in Eastern Anatolia.

A new Sheraton hotel, the brand's fifth in the city, is due to open next year in the Esenyurt district on Istanbul's European side, and will be complemented by a long-stay offer with the Residences at the Sheraton Istanbul Esenyurt.

Also positioned in the business travel market, Delta by Marriott will be adding a second hotel in the Turkish metropolis with the Delta Hotels by Marriott Istanbul Levent, due to open at the end of the summer in one of the city's main business districts. In addition to its 232 rooms, the hotel will offer business travellers seven rooms for meetings and eventsThe largest of these can accommodate 150 people. Finally, the top-of-the-range Autograph Collection, which brings together independent hotels with characterwill be joined by two new members from Istanbul: The Burdock in 2021 and the Orient Occident Hotel in 2022.
