This is a must-visit address in the MICE at South Brittany which has been enjoying a wonderful renaissance in recent weeks. Visit Domaine de Locguénolé & Spa has just reopened its doors after three years of work and a 30M investment by Breton group Beautiful Life Hotels, which acquired the château in 2020 from the de la Tour Maubourg family, who had owned it since it was built in 1800.
Located in Morbihan, 20 minutes from Lorient, the estate overlooking the banks of the Blavet is now home to 44 rooms and suites and 3 atypical flats. Ranging in size from 23 to 57 m², thirteen of the rooms are located in the château, decorated in a spirit of curiosity that pays homage to the Compagnie des Indes. Twenty-five rooms, ranging in size from 16 to 60 m², are located in the elegant manor with views over the river, the park or the château. Eleven (from 20 to 37 m²) have been fitted out in the former stables of the estate, renamed The ClubThe rooms are decorated in a more contemporary style, highlighting the equestrian world. Guests have direct access to the spa on the ground floor of this stone building, with 6 treatment rooms, hammam, sauna and an indoor swimming pool heated all year round.
Three atypical homes complete the range of accommodation on offer, including Villa Bélem, a luxury gîte with 3 bedrooms created in the former caretaker's cottage, Le Coucou, whose 3 bucolic suites are nestled in the château's former chicken coop, and the Capricea sailing boat dating from the 1930s, converted into a marine suite. La restoration is another strong point of Domaine de Locguénolé, with Yann Maget, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, who trained with chefs Yannick Alléno and Pierre Gagnaire, in charge of menus for receptions and business meals (with tasting menus at €59, €79 and €109/pers.), and above all at the helm of the bistro restaurant La Maison Alyette and gastronomic table The unexpected.
