Hotels
RITZ-CARLTON MOSCOW. Situated literally opposite Red Square, this hotel, opened in 1927, is full of contrasts. From the gilding and mouldings in the lobby, we move on to the classic, more sober luxury of its 334 rooms, then to the refined style of its brand new Asian restaurant, Ginko Bei Seiji. On the top floor, the trendy lounge offers a magnificent view of Basil the Blessed Cathedral.

RADISSON ROYAL HOTEL MOSCOW. Opened in the spring, this hotel is housed in one of the famous 'seven sisters', the imposing Soviet-era administrative buildings that dot the landscape along the Moskva. There is a lot of gilding and ornamentation in the communal areas and 506 rooms, but there is an 'altitude' restaurant on the 31st floor, with a view. It should be noted that the hotel is a little out of the way.

HOTEL METROPOL. Admittedly, there is a rather old-fashioned atmosphere in what was once Moscow's grand hotel. But at the same time, there's a real sense of nostalgia for the heyday of the beginning of the last century. In its 362 rooms, including 72 suites, you can savour the charm of this sumptuous Art Nouveau building. Another pleasure: sipping a White Russian under the magnificently decorated glass roof that once housed
Tolstoy and Rachmaninov.

Restaurants
KAI RESTAURANT. The Swissôtel's elegant restaurant offers French cuisine with an Asian accent. What makes it special is that almost every month a guest chef arrives from abroad to innovate and add his or her own personal touch. After dinner, head up to the City Space Bar & Lounge on the top floor, 140 metres up, for a drink. It offers an exceptional 360° view of the whole of Moscow.
