New Zealand is about to take on a new dimension on the international MICE scene. The land of the long white cloud is to get a brand new convention centre. The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) will officially open its doors on 11 February 2026.

The result of a $750 million investment, the NZICC will be able to accommodate some 4,000 people in its event spaces. It will include 33 meeting rooms and a 2,850-seat theatre. These ultra-modern facilities have already attracted the attention of event organisers. The New Zealand International Convention Centre's booking book is already full, with over a hundred events confirmed for 2026.

The SkyCity CEO continues: " With over 100 events confirmed for 2026, the NZICC represents a significant investment in New Zealand's future, creating opportunities for local businesses, generating jobs for our wider community and propelling Auckland's event capabilities onto the world stage.
