Paris-Orly at the helm of a new environmental alliance

The ADP Group has officially launched the Paris-Orly Environmental Alliance. Bringing together some thirty signatories, the Paris airport's partners have set themselves quantified targets.

Air France, Air Liquide, Novotel, Sécuritas, Suez: these are just some of the 33 signatories of the alliance unveiled this week by the ADP Group. This "Paris-Orly Environmental Alliance should position Paris airport at the forefront of the sector's environmental transformation. Justine Coutard explains the approach as follows: " With the creation of the Paris-Orly Environmental Alliance, based on five concrete, quantified objectives, we are moving up a gear in our drive to decarbonise the airport ". So what are these objectives? Firstly, the Paris-Orly environmental alliance plans to achieve 0 net CO2 emissions on the ground by 2030. And to reduce electricity, heating and cooling consumption in the terminals by 40% by the same date. In addition, by the end of the decade, 80% of non-hazardous waste will be recovered. Other commitments made by the 33 partners include reducing noise pollution at night (10pm-11.30pm) and, conversely, increasing the amount of space given over to biodiversity to 30%.

To ensure that it achieves these objectives, the new alliance has already planned to commit to a half-yearly assessment. In addition, thematic working groups will soon be set up. Their role will be to share progress on projects, launch new initiatives and discuss the levers to be activated.

Its densely populated urban environment calls for rapid transformation to reduce its impact and encourage successful integration into the surrounding area. "it also states.
