The Radisson group is starting to specialize in «green» and urban hospitality, from golf resorts near major metropolises to hotels with golf facilities. After the opening last year of Radisson Collection The National in Brussels – a luxury hotel with views of the 18-hole course of the National Golf Brussels and 150 rooms, as well as large spaces dedicated to meetings – a new project of this type has just been announced in France, in Lyon.
The high-end Radisson Blu brand is actually part of a long-standing hotel project at the Verger Golf Course in Saint-Symphorien-d’Ozon, which was suspended in 2013 following the death of the previous owner, according to the regional daily Le Progrès. Resumed by the new owner, the Lyon-based company AZ Invest 770, this project will now bring the urban resort planned for 2029 to life, featuring two golf courses: one of 9 holes and the other of 18 holes.
" Giving this asset a second life by transforming it into a Radisson Blu resort creates a destination that is just as relevant for business meetings in the week as it is for a family golf weekend, just 30 minutes from Lyon and its airport. », declares Valérie Schuermans, General Manager of Development for Western Europe at the Radisson Hotel Group.
Because, in addition to its leisure facilities with a spa and a wellness area of 800 m², featuring indoor and outdoor pools and two padel courts, the future Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Lyon Golf du Verger positions itself as a new hotel for seminars in the great outdoors with 1,150 m² of modular spaces, both indoors and outdoors. In addition, for the reception of participants or business travelers passing through, there are 148 rooms, including 16 Junior suites and two presidential suites, and as for F&B, there is a restaurant extended by a 2,000 m² terrace, a bar in the lobby, and another one on the rooftop.
A new hotel in Paris
With this upcoming opening, Radisson strengthens its presence in the Lyon region, in addition to the luxurious Cour des Loges hotel – a Radisson Collection located in Vieux Lyon – and a Radisson Blu visible throughout the city due to its elevated position on the emblematic Part-Dieu tower. The group is also continuing to expand its footprint in the Paris region. The Radisson Individuals brand recently welcomed the East Side Hôtel Paris Gare de l’Est as a member. This is a four-star boutique hotel, obviously perfectly located for business travelers, and even more so when the CDG Express service will start serving the station from March 28, 2027.
" France remains a priority market for us, and these two projects showcase the full range of what we can offer: a complete Radisson Blu resort near Lyon, and a distinctive independent hotel in Paris that joins our network through Radisson Individuals while maintaining its own identity. », said Valérie Schuermans.
