SAS Scandinavian: back to New York JFK

After a 34-year absence, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will once again be landing its aircraft at New York JFK on 9 February. It will also continue to serve Newark from Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.

For as long as anyone can remember, SAS Scandinavian Airlines has always been present in New York. Except that since 1990, the company had stopped serving New York Kennedy for concentrate its offer on Newark. The city's second international airport is a major hub for United Airlines, SAS' major American partner in the Star Alliance.

So it's back with a bang for the Scandinavian company, which has to launch flights from Copenhagen from 9 February 2023.

With the launch of its new route to JFK in New York, SAS will offer customers frequent departures to this convenient and efficient airport, with easy access to and from New York, as well as many connecting flights to choose from.

Service to JFK will start with five weekly flights from Copenhagen, before reaching cruising speed for the summer programme with a daily frequency.. SAS will operate at terminal 7 from JFK. At the same time, the airline will continue to operate daily flights to Newark from Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm Arlanda.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines is seeing sustained demand for its services to the United States. The airline offers 130 departures a week for a total of 12 routes. for the 2022/2023 winter season.
