Schiphol is strengthening its premium service offering with a fourth Privium lounge. ClubLounge South, located near gates B, C and the future gate A, opened on 6 August 2026 for Privium Plus members travelling to a Schengen destination. Covering more than 800 m² with a capacity of 125 people, it becomes the largest lounge in the network at Schiphol, ahead of the three existing spaces, which include ClubLounge West dedicated to non-Schengen flights.
The D/DOCK firm designed the interior layout around two distinct uses: work and relaxation. Booths and quiet spaces make it possible to take a call or make progress on a file before boarding, while meeting rooms and a shower complete the offering. Schiphol took advantage of the opening to revamp its menu: the service now follows the rhythm of the day, from barista coffee and breakfast in the morning to sandwiches and hot or cold dishes later on, with increased use of individual portions to limit food waste.
Easier access by the end of the year
By the end of 2026, Schiphol plans to open a dedicated security lane leading directly from the departures hall to the lounge without passing through the general check-point areas. This development aims to reduce transit times for Privium Plus members, in line with the programme's promise to make passing through the airport smoother.
For Franc Vink, head of premium services at Schiphol, this opening responds to changing expectations among business travellers: “ The time our members spend at Schiphol is becoming increasingly valuable. That is why, in developing ClubLounge South, we sought not only to create more space, but above all to make that time as comfortable and productive as possible. "
The opening also coincided with Privium's 25th anniversary. Launched on 23 October 2001, the programme was the world's first to offer expedited border crossing using iris recognition, before expanding over time to include dedicated parking, business class check-in, and a network of lounges now also accessible to non-members via the purchase of a Lounge Voucher.
