With the aim of improving the airport experience for its passengers, SkyTeam brings, from 1 April 2025, some changes to the exhibition access policy for its Elite Plus, First Class and Business Class customers.
The most important change for the better is access for Elite Plus customers certain airlines' lounges when travelling on domestic routes. Access to domestic lounges will initially be available in a number ofAir France, China Eastern, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, KLM, SAS, Saudia and Vietnam Airlines.
However, specific rules apply to lounges on domestic flights from Delta Air Lines and Aerolineas Argentina. For these two airlines, there are specific rules with a separate membership to benefit from lounge access, Elite status or not. SkyTeam and its members nevertheless plan to progressively extend access to the domestic lounges of other carriers and destinations.
Other changes introduced by the alliance include the possibility of taking a guest into the lounge for Elite Plus customers. However, this is subject to the guest travelling on the same flight as the Elite Plus passenger... Another change will be the limitation of ttime spent at trade fairs. It will now be three hours in most of the alliance's lounges. Nonetheless, connecting passengers will benefit from improved access. During the same day or over a 24-hour period at the transit hub.
Benefits calculator now available
Always aimed at its loyal passengers travelling on its member airlines, Skyteam now offers a benefits calculator on its website. This new tool makes it possible to see, according to the level of status and the airline concerned, what services are available at the time of the flight. These range from priority check-in to accelerated baggage handling and reserved lounge access. All passengers have to do is enter their frequent flyer programme number and status in the benefits calculator, and the list of services to which they can aspire will unfold. SkyTeam has 230 million loyal members participating in 17 different programmes offered by its 19 member airlines. Last year, Skyteam had already launched an award-winning carry-on baggage calculator, indicating the limits of each airline. This innovation won a Skift IDEA Award and was named 'Best Digital Transformation Initiative' at the European Mission Awards.
