You have the platform or you have the support, rarely both

Two families of business travel agencies share the French market. One looks after its tool, the other its service, and the company that wants both searches for a long time.

How many times have you changed your business travel agency hoping that this time, everything would be sorted? The demonstration goes well, the consultants are pleasant, and six months later something is still missing. The tool that travellers avoid. Or the support team that takes two days to reply to an email. What is missing is never the same depending on the provider chosen, and that is no coincidence.

Where does the trade-off between technology and service come from?

It comes from the remit that each family of agencies has chosen to master. Digital platforms invest in the product and standardise a frequently outsourced medium, where you have to explain your case all over again with every call. Traditional agencies keep local advisers, but resell a third-party publisher's tool whose developments and schedule they do not control.

A third way exists, more discreet: the agency that features a tool in its own name but entrusts its development to an external provider. The logo changes, the dependency remains.

Yet what buyers are looking at lies elsewhere. When surveyed by the AFTM in March 2026, travel managers place cost control very clearly at the top of their priorities for the year, ahead of content access and travel policy compliance. Digitalisation and artificial intelligence bring up the rear of the ranking. Above all, what is being purchased is controlled spending and a tool that employees use instead of bypassing it.

Why a polished interface says nothing about the service behind it

A demonstration shows the tool at a single point in time. It says nothing about what it will be like in two years' time. Two agencies can present the exact same booking journey: one drives its own roadmap, while the other waits for the next release from a vendor for which it is just one client among many.

At Supertripper, the platform and mobile app are designed and developed by its teams in France, with no white-labelled components. The agency decides on the updates and implements them itself. The result: an interface designed with both the traveller and the travel administrator in mind, where searches and bookings can be carried out on both computers and mobile devices. Your travel policy rules are applied at the time of the search, not retrospectively in a report. In the first half of 2026, 94 % of travellers made bookings via the tool, across all booking categories.

What changes when you have a contact person who is already familiar with your case

Having a contact person who is already familiar with your file saves you from having to explain everything all over again. Your agreements, your team's habits and your travel history are known before the call. A request is handled at the first exchange, without having to take up the file from the beginning because it has changed hands.

Travel advisers work from the agency’s French offices, in your time zone and in your language, including at night and at weekends. The satisfaction rate recorded amongst its corporate clients stood at 96 % in the first half of 2026.

At Terrena, an agricultural cooperative that entrusts it with one million euros in travel expenses per year, the Executive Assistant summed up the change of agency in April 2026 as follows: « I have zero complaints from my colleagues. "

Why are you paying more than the airline's rate?

Because the price passes through a distribution chain before reaching your bill. Aggregator, distribution system, consolidator, agency: every link takes its cut along the way. The gap with the supplier’s rate establishes itself without anyone having decided it and appears on no line of expenditure.

Supertripper connects directly wherever possible: with Air France-KLM, via the NDC protocol and its Direct Connect technology; with hotel chains, through direct agreements. Its model is commission-free per booking and has no markup on supplier rates: the price displayed is theirs. On hotels, its analyses show a cheaper rate 8 times out of 10 compared to consumer sites.

How does a buying group's purchasing volume lower your prices?

Corporate rates are negotiated by volume. A company negotiates with the volume it generates on its own. By going through an agency, you inherit the volume it brings to suppliers, and that is where the difference in the base rate comes into play.

Supertripper is a subsidiary of Groupe Marietton Développement, the leading French independent tourism group, which announced a turnover of €2.3 billion and more than 1,800 employees for the first half of 2026. This volume speaks for itself in supplier negotiations. In addition, the group participates in GIE Asha, a purchasing consortium that pools €4.4 billion in volumes beyond its own scope alone. The GIE continually negotiates with airlines, hotel chains and car rental companies.

Finally, to these conditions are added your own: the rates your company has negotiated directly are integrated into the platform and remain prioritised.

How to check all of this for yourself?

None of these points can be verified on a brochure. Internal development can be checked by asking what the last delivered update was, and by whom. The location of support, by asking who will answer your travellers, and from where. The remuneration model, by asking in writing what is billed and what is not. Three questions to ask any agency, including Supertripper.

Supertripper will be at IFTM from 15 to 17 September, Paris Porte de Versailles, Hall 1, Business Club, stand D084. Thirty minutes is enough to cost your travel based on your actual volumes rather than a theoretical grid.
