In response to strong demand, Swiss International Air Lines is expanding its flight schedule on its Europe routes for the coming 2023/2024 winter season. It will include new destinations and more frequent flights to certain airports already served.
Le short and medium-haul network de Swiss will comprise 68 destinations departing from Zurich and Geneva. Among other things, the airline will take over a number of routes with its own fleet. The aim is to halve the number of flights operated by Air Baltic and Helvetic Airways on behalf of the Swiss national airline. " We remain on course for steady, stable growth "says Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Chief Commercial Officer at Swiss.
More flights to Germany via Zurich
From Zurich, passengers on Swiss will be able to travel to 63 short- and medium-haul destinationsfour more than last winter. L'Germany is particularly well served. The Swiss carrier takes over the Bremen serviceafter suspending it during the health crisis. It will offer four weekly frequencies. The airline is increasing its frequencies from Zurich to Düsseldorf (6 extra flights per week), Hamburg (4 extra flights), Hanover (2 extra flights) and will be expanding its service to Berlin with 52 flights per week. Swiss is also strengthening its services to Amsterdam, AthensBarcelona, Bucharest, Lisbon, Porto and Prague from Zurich.
Finally, the company will resume services to Vienna with three daily flights. Austrian Airlines will continue to serve the Zurich-Vienna route several times a day.
A programme looking south from Geneva
From Geneva, Swiss also offers its customers a programme to 21 European destinations. The number of flights to London, Lisbon, Porto and Athens will be particularly high. Services to Hamburg, which opened this summer, will continue with four weekly flights.
The 2023-2024 winter flight schedule will come into effect on 29 October 2023 and run until 30 March 2024.
