TAP Air Portugal is also getting with the times by creating a Premium Economy that genuinely stands out from similar products offered by the competition. Indeed – probably for cost reasons – TAP Air Portugal will not offer a different seat from the one in economy class, as is the case on Air France, Emirates or Lufthansa. On the other hand, the carrier guarantees that the seat next to it will remain free, offering greater privacy - particularly for passengers in rows close to the windows.

The company, which is launching this new product on 1 June, indicated that this class, which is already bookable, will be positioned between Business class and Classic Economy on the Airbus A330 and also the Airbus A321LR.

The Economy Prime cabin has 12 seats, located just behind Business Class, with a four-seat per row configuration. This arrangement – including the empty middle seat – creates a quieter and more intimate environment, allowing passengers to enjoy a more relaxed and comfortable journey.

TAP Air Portugal offers a series of improvements and advantages on the ground and in the air. On boarding, passengers benefit from premium airport services including priority check-in, priority baggage handling (2 bags in the hold), fast-track access to security checks and priority boarding.

On board, the Economy Prime class is distinguished by a personalised service. Passengers benefit from a meal Principal premium with two hot dishes to choose from, the possibility to pre-select their meal up to 24 hours before departure, a comfort kit, and a premium pillow.

Among the additional benefits for frequent flyers, TAP Air Portugal offers more advantageous mileage accumulation, the possibility of modifying the ticket at no extra charge, as well as improved refund conditions, making this offer an attractive option within Economy Class.
