In fact, for the year 2026, the 3 daily return journeys operated on the Paris–Geneva–Lausanne route will have Geneva as their destination and departure point. To travel to Lausanne, passengers will need to change at Geneva station for a SBB train – which means a journey extension of 20 to 30 minutes – or take the direct Paris-Lausanne link operated daily via Dijon, Dole, Mouchard (depending on the TGV chosen), Frasne and Vallorbe.
Due to works, this service of 3 return journeys per day will be reduced to two return journeys per day from Monday 7th to Thursday 17th September (Mondays to Thursdays) and from Monday 21st September to Wednesday 7th October (Mondays to Wednesdays). This service via the Jura will even be suspended between 10th and 25th October in order to carry out works on the vaults of the Mont-d’Or cross-border tunnel this time.
The lines to Basel and Zurich are also affected.
Regarding the Paris-Basel and Paris-Zurich railway lines, TGV Lyria advises that works intended " to modernise infrastructure and strengthen network reliability » are also planned until early 2027. « Some TGV Lyria trains will operate on adjusted timetables with modified stops, extended journey times and earlier departures or later arrivals at Basel SBB and Zurich HB stations. ", the company specifies. And no trains will run on this line during the weekends of April 25-26 and June 6-7."
In addition to this, the total closure of Gare de Lyon is planned between 8pm on 30 April and 2pm on 3 May to carry out track work approaching the Parisian station. Some departures and arrivals are nevertheless announced each day during this long weekend from Roissy-CDG SNCF station or Marne-la-Vallée station.
